Cookies / Similar Technologies, Log Files, and Web Beacons

Cookies / Similar Technologies: See our Cookie Policy below for detailed information on Cookies and the purposes for which we use them or may use them and learn how you can manage your Cookie preferences.

What are Cookies? Cookies are small text files placed on your computer by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site.

How and why do we use Cookies? We use Cookies to improve the use and functionality of the application and to better understand how our visitors use it, as well as the tools and services offered there. Cookies help us tailor the application to your personal needs, make it easier to use over time, receive consumer satisfaction feedback, and communicate with you from other locations on the internet.

What types of Cookies are or may be used in the Weex systems?

We may use the following types of Cookies in the Weex systems:

Session Cookies: These are temporary Cookies that are deleted when you close your browser. When you restart your browser and go back to the site that created the cookie, that site treats you as a new visitor.

Persistent Cookies: These Cookies remain in your browser until you manually delete them or until your browser deletes them according to the duration period established by the cookie. These cookies will recognize your return as a visitor.

Necessary Cookies: These are strictly necessary Cookies for system operation. They allow you to navigate the site and use our features.

Cookies that send us information about you: These Cookies are placed by us on a Weex system and can only be read by that system. They are known as “first-party” Cookies.

Other similar technologies: The Weex application also uses or may use other tracking technologies, including IP addresses, log files, and web beacons, which also help us tailor it to your personal needs.

IP Addresses: An IP address is a number used by computers on the network to identify your computer every time you connect to the internet. We may record IP addresses for the following purposes: (i) technical troubleshooting issues; (ii) maintaining site protection and security; (iii) better understanding of how our systems are used; and (iv) more content tailored to your needs, depending on the country you are in.

Log Files: We (or a third party on our behalf) may collect information in the form of log files that record site activities and collect statistics about user browsing habits. In general, these logs are generated anonymously and help us collect (among other things) (i) the type of browser and user system; (ii) information about the user session (such as its source URL, the date, time, and which pages the user visited on our site and how long they stayed); and (iii) other browsing or click count data (e.g., site traffic report and count of unique visitors).

Web Beacons: We use web beacons (or transparent GIFs) in the application. Web beacons (also known as “web bugs”) are small code sequences that allow the delivery of a graphic image on a web page for the purpose of transferring data back to us. We use web beacon information for various purposes, including information on how a user responds to email campaigns (e.g., the time the email is opened, which link the user clicks from the email), site traffic reports, count of unique visitors, auditing and advertising and email reporting, and customization.

Managing your Cookies/preferences: You should ensure that your computer settings reflect whether you consent to accept Cookies or not. You can set your browser to notify you before you accept Cookies or simply refuse them. You don’t need to have Cookies to use or browse most sites, although you probably won’t be able to access all their features in that case. See the “help” button in your browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Firefox) on how to do this. Remember that if you use different computers in different locations, you will need to make sure that each browser is set to your Cookie preferences.

Since the web beacon is part of a web page, it is not possible to use the “opt-out” feature with respect to this beacon. But you can render it ineffective by using the “opt-out” feature for the Cookies placed by this beacon.

Additionally, when available, you can decide whether to allow Cookies to be placed on your computer or opt out of Cookies by visiting the following sites and selecting which company’s Cookies you wish to have.

Remember that the Data collected has no economic purpose, but those listed in this document.

Additional Rights (e.g., modification, deletion of Personal Data): Where permitted by law, You may (i) request the deletion, portability, correction, or revision of your Personal Data; (ii) limit the use and disclosure of your Personal Data; and (iii) revoke consent to any of our data processing activities.

Note that, in certain circumstances, we may not be able to delete your Personal Data without also deleting your user account. Applicable laws may also allow us to retain some of your Personal Data to meet business needs.

When available, our systems may have a dedicated function through which you can review and edit the Personal Data you have provided to us. Note that we ask our registered users to verify their identity (e.g., login, email address, password) before accessing or making changes to their accounts to prevent unauthorized access to your account.

We hope to address any questions you may have about how we process your Personal Data. However, if you have unresolved concerns, you have the right to complain to the relevant data protection authorities.
